Six friends, drawn together by a common interest in the outdoors, discover that their deer camp, in the forested hills of a southern Indiana, was once at the center of a thriving community; a community that holds a dark history and appears to be holding a threatening future. All they ever wanted was to be left alone in their hideaway far from the pressures of the real world. Their passion for hunting is compromised when they find themselves caught-up in the middle of outside world pressures pushing in on their sanctuary. Real issues with a variety of extenuating circumstances seem to all come to a head on their quiet hunting refuge.

Insufferable things happen, people die, and everyone in the Valley finds themselves in peril, but no one knows from where the danger comes. Fear and unwarranted suspicions heighten among the last few remaining residents. Lives are radically changed, and fears increase daily, hourly, and even minute-by-minute.

A long hard search for the truth casts suspicions on multiple suspects that range from a Government conspiracy, to handful of radicals. Former ex-cons, an industrial cover-up, and even the fourteen people living in the Elk Valley Community are placed on the list of viable suspects.

As told from Jack Cain’s perspective, he and his friend Ned are the central figures as their story unfolds. They play an integral part in the investigation through to the conclusion; yet both remain deceptive to some of the evidence that is never really revealed to the authorities.

Just finished reading "Under the Hunter's Moon". I loved it!! I guess being a former hunter myself, I could relate to so much that was going on with the guys. You were so vivid in describing the people and the surroundings. I was very impressed! I must get a copy of your other book. Send me the info on where I can get it. I'm not sure I still have that link to where I purchased this one.   Robin Lamb: Georgia
